CINEMAELECTRIC EXPANDS OPERATIONS, HIRES NEW EXECUTIVES

LOS ANGELES – August 1, 2007 – CinemaElectric, a leading global provider of mobile video, has re-launched under new management, with an innovative focus on original, “made-for-mobile” content and an expanded portfolio of brands and licensed properties.  The company has also expanded its operations with a new office in Seattle.

The CinemaElectric executive team now includes Co-Presidents, Adam Levin and Josh Kaye as well as Executive Vice President of marketing and business development, Ken Willner.  Levin’s background is in the investment banking side of the entertainment industry, while Kaye previously worked in the world of independent film financing and distribution.  Willner has an extensive background in mobile media and was formerly the Vice President of Advertising and Media at AT&T Wireless.  He will be based in the company’s new Seattle office. 

With the change in management also comes a new infusion of capital and additional branded content partnerships to augment CinemaElectric’s program line-up.  The company has recently partnered with The Ford Modeling Agency for fashion and lifestyle content as well as the highly-viewed, YouTube sensations Barats and Baretta for comedic shorts.  In addition, CinemaElectric recently reached an agreement with Warner Bros. to distribute Spanish language Looney Tunes animation in Latin America.

“Josh and I are excited to be leading CinemaElectric during this important time for the company and industry at large,” said Adam Levin, co-president, CinemaElectric.  “The mobile video space is coming of age, content partners understand the great possibilities and we now have a solid management team and the resources to leverage our global distribution network.”

Much of this new branded content will be seen on CinemaElectric channels in more than 50 countries worldwide.

  • Smashbrain – The Young men’s lifestyle network
  • Portable Hollywood – Highlighting the hottest celebrities, movies, parties, music and happenings in Hollywood
  • Phat TV – The Urban and Hip-Hop culture network
  • Latino.Net – Featuring current Latin entertainment and lifestyle programming
  • Mobile Laugh Network (MLN) – Combines the best professionally produced and user generated comedy

As part of the re-launch, the company has placed a renewed focus on expanding its global distribution network which currently includes leading US carriers and MVNOs such as Verizon Wireless (VCast) and Helio as well as a host of tier-1 operators throughout North America, Europe, Latin America and parts of Asia.
